Instead of doing my typical intro of 'This popcorn... blah blah blah', I'd like to quote my roommate instead:
"That was the best popcorn I've ever had..."
I'm not trying to sound cocky, it's just that my popcorn game has been on point lately and yours can be too... (Note: I am sarcastic a lot, as you will see in my posts. Also note - we don't eat a ton of corn or grains in our house, which is reflected in my recipes, but this makes a great treat).
Makes: One big bowl of popcorn to share among 4 or so people. Or hog it all to yourself.
What You'll Need:
4 tbsp organic coconut oil
1/2 cup organic popcorn kernels (use organic - corn is one of the most genetically modified crops in the U.S. It's so cheap to buy, there's no excuse!)
2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
1 Tbsp everything bagel seasoning
salt to taste
1/4 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder
To pop the popcorn: I started typing out instructions and then figured I should just link to an article that explains it better ;) I was making it way too complicated ha. Check out this article on how to pop your popcorn on the stove. Note: I use 2 Tbsp coconut oil to pop mine, not one. So use 2.
Once you have your popcorn popped, time to top it! Put your hot popcorn in a large glass bowl. Melt the remaining 2 Tbsp coconut oil in a small sauce pan and drizzle it over the popcorn. Top the popcorn with nutritional yeast, everything bagel seasoning, salt and garlic powder. Toss with a spoon to mix the ingredients in and serve! Enjoy your movie ;)
