Another day, another smoothie at our house... Raphael said this was the best smoothie he's had in months (woo-hoo!) so you should probably try it for yourself and let me know what you think.
This smoothie is technically raw but if you don't have access to raw protein powder or almond butter (I buy my raw almond butter at Trader Joe's for a fraction of what it costs as Whole Foods) you simply use non-raw products.
Since the raw almond butter, chia seeds and raw vegan protein powder add both protein and fiber, this smoothie will keep you full until lunch. Cacao and maca will give you a nice little natural energy boost and the strawberry-banana combo will add lots of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to help you feel your best and kick start your morning.
Makes: Two Servings
What You'll Need:
2.5 cups cold filtered spring water
2 frozen bananas
2 cups frozen organic strawberries
1 scoop of vanilla raw vegan protein powder (I love Sun Warrior's Warrior Blend in Vanilla)
2 Tbsp raw almond butter
2 Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp raw cacao powder
2 Tbsp organic unsweetened shredded dried coconut
1 tsp maca powder (optional)
Toss all ingredients into your high speed blender and blend until smooth. Pour, sip and enjoy!
